Our History syllabus endeavours to teach children about past events in a factual way, but also to develop vital intellectual skills which can be applied to a wider context.
Children will embrace the study of history as a means of understanding the world in which we live today by learning about how and why it has come about.
History is, above all, the study of human behaviour, and for our multicultural children we feel it is vital that they learn about themselves and society in a meaningful way. We pride ourselves on being able to make past events relevant to our children by comparing them to events that they are familiar with.
Utilising the superb technological resources that we have on campus, we are able to bring history alive. The children are no longer reliant solely on textbooks. With the vast resource of information available over the internet there is a wealth of material to support their learning. This develops the children’s historical skills of observation, analysis and explanation.
